Hostages of the heat
On the calendar, it's already summer, and the weather in most of the territory of Ukraine is actually summer - at least very, very warm, and in some places - frankly hot. And, probably, there is not a single person who, after prolonged cold weather and heavy rains, would not be happy for the long-awaited sun and warmth, short nights and long days, and, of course, vacations and a dream vacation. However, there are certain moments that somewhat spoil all the pleasant impressions of summer: someone has it
- incredible suffocation in public transport at rush hour, someone has a hot interior of a car left for a whole day in an open parking lot without any tension on the shade. And if passengers of buses or minibuses in this case can only be recommended to walk more in the summer, at least if they have to cover a short distance, then helping car owners suffering from the sometimes simply terrible heat is a bit more difficult. But we will still try!
We hope that the advice of experienced experts will be useful to you.
- So, the first and most important rule, which everyone is well aware of and which at the same time is often neglected. Try not to leave your car in the open, even if you leave it for a few minutes! And believe me: between the options "leave the car in the shade of the trees and walk to the right place" or "park right in front of the entrance to the office, but in the sun," the first is definitely the best. And you will feel it as soon as you get into the car! By the way, in addition to the unpleasant sensations and discomfort of being on a hot frying pan, according to doctors, it is also extremely dangerous for your health - and those who suffer from diseases of the cardiovascular system or know for themselves what high blood pressure is, should remember this first of all.
- In the summer, it is advisable to have a sun-reflecting curtain (or a special cape) in the cabin. And if you have to leave the car in direct sunlight, don't forget to place it on the windshield (and preferably on the back as well). This will protect the interior from dangerous "overheating" and help protect the upholstery from burning.
- Your slogan: tanks are not afraid of dirt? So you are in no hurry to wash the car one more time? And in vain, because, in addition to the fact that you wash the car and look more attractive, and passengers and the driver are more pleasant in the cabin of such a car, the "car wash" also, as it turns out, is a useful means of "fighting" the annoying sun. The fact is that a dirty coating (it doesn't matter if it's paint or glass) reflects the sun's rays worse, which causes the interior to heat up faster and more strongly. Therefore, it is paradoxical, but a fact! – a clean black car heats up more slowly than a white but dirty one.
- What do we do when we get behind the wheel on a hot day? That's right, turn on the air conditioner. Although... not quite right. At least, this is what doctors think and sound the alarm: air conditioning in the summer is the most frequent cause of colds (at least), respiratory tract diseases, even pneumonia (which is already a problem!). So, two tips: when turning on the air conditioner, first observe a slight temperature difference in the cabin and outside (for example, outside +300 - program the air conditioner at +250, and then - after 10-15 minutes - gradually reduce it to 220, and even lower, if necessary). And the second recommendation from doctors: in no case do not direct the air flow at yourself or passengers. The best option: adjust the device so that cold air falls on the feet (but without fanaticism!) and blows under the ceiling of the cabin.
If your car is not equipped with air conditioning (which, of course, you regret every time you get into the car on a hot day), experts recommend remembering the "grandfather's" way of cooling the cabin. By the way, it is safer to use both for your health and for the car itself, and besides, it is much cheaper than installing an air conditioner. So, the method is as follows: buy regular heating pads, fill them to 80-90% with water, cool them in the freezer - until it turns into ice. By placing such "ice" heaters in the interior, you will be able to achieve a noticeable cooling effect and for several hours you will be able to enjoy such a pleasant coolness in the summer. As they say, cheap and angry. And, most importantly, without harm to health and the car!
So experiment, look for the best option for you and feel comfortable!
Have a nice summer trip!
